INTERSTORES focuses on integrating seasonal thermal energy storage systems to enhance energy efficiency and reliability in future energy systems. The project aims to demonstrate innovative storage solutions and their market potential through full-scale implementations across Europe.
Future energy systems will integrate diverse, variable renewable energy sources to replace fossil fuels, use sector coupling and waste heat recovery, and interact symbiotically with a variety of users.
