This project investigates the role of specific types of GABAergic interneurons in sensory processing within the mouse brain. By using advanced imaging techniques, it aims to understand how these interneurons contribute to the modulation of sensory responses in primary sensory areas.
GABAergic interneurons are known to play a central role in sensory processing, circuit plasticity in the developing cortex and several neurological disorders.
However, the role of specific interneuron subtypes in the emergence of functional properties or in the modulation of spontaneous cortical dynamics is still unclear.
