The InfTy project aims to develop mathematical methods for reasoning about programs that handle infinite objects. By creating compositional typed formalisms and integrating them with rewriting techniques, the research seeks to enhance the safety and reliability of software systems that manipulate infinite data.
Infinite objects are ubiquitous in computer science, e.g., an interactive program may be modelled as taking for input a stream (an infinite list) of requests and producing a stream of responses.
