IMPACTPapeRec focuses on improving the collection and quality of Paper for Recycling (PfR) in Europe. The project aims to enhance cooperation among stakeholders to boost PfR rates, ensuring sustainable raw material procurement for the paper industry.
The European paper industry is at the core of the bioeconomy, using wood, a renewable material, and Paper for Recycling (PfR) as its main raw materials for producing paper products.
This industry is a strategic sector in the EU economy, actively contributing to the re-industrialisation of Europe.
Currently, the production of paper and board in the EU is 91 tonnes per year, while PfR represents 63%.
