The project aims to analyze the causes of anaemia in preschool-aged children in Africa, focusing on factors like malnutrition and infections. It will develop statistical methods to create risk maps and assess the impact of these factors on child health, guiding interventions to reduce anaemia prevalence.
Anaemia affects two-third of all preschool-aged children in Africa.
Malnutrition, malaria and helminth infections are among the main factors contributing to anaemia in this age group, however their relative contribution across the continent is not well understood.
