This project explores the formation and destruction pathways of HCN and HNC molecules on interstellar ices, which are essential for understanding prebiotic chemistry in space. It combines computational chemistry with astrochemical modeling to investigate these processes.
HCN and HNC are routinely used by astronomers to trace temperature and dense gas regions in galaxies, where stars and planetary systems form.
