The i-VITAL project aims to enhance motorcycle safety by integrating vital sign monitoring and accident detection into helmets and garments. This system will provide critical data to emergency services and improve rider communication during accidents.
Reduction of fatalities in motorcycles accidents is still an unaccomplished task, accounting for 16% of the total number of road accident fatalities.
Motorcycle is the only mode of transport for which the number of fatalities has increased over the last eight years.
It is urgent to develop solutions to increase motorcycle riders’ safety and provide them to the market.
