i-TRIBOMAT establishes an open test bed for characterizing tribological materials, enhancing the development of innovative materials for various industries. The project aims to reduce costs and time-to-market by providing extensive testing infrastructure and data management tools for material performance evaluation.
Wherever moving bodies are in contact with each other, the respective materials have to show certain friction and wear (tribological) performance.
These materials have to fulfil additional functionality and meet ecological, health and safety regulations too.
