I-STREAM investigates the impact of climate disasters on live music in Caribbean cities, focusing on San Juan, Kingston, and Havana. The project combines ethnographic research with online concert analysis to understand how music contributes to recovery and cultural resilience in the face of climate change.
For decades, Caribbean musics have seen unparalleled global popularity, becoming key to the regions tourism economy.
Yet today, Caribbean live music scenes are in peril, reeling from recurring climate-related disasters.
