I.MOVE.U investigates how humans infer intentions from body movements during social interactions. By integrating psychophysics, neuroscience, and virtual reality, the project aims to understand the mechanisms behind intention recognition and develop new methodologies for studying social cognition.
From observing other people’s movements, humans make inferences that go far beyond the appearance of the observed stimuli: inferences about unobservable mental states such as goals and intentions.
