HyTransit will test a fleet of six hybrid fuel cell buses in daily operations, alongside a hydrogen refueling station in Scotland. The project aims to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen buses for public transport and support their commercialization.
Hydrogen buses have the potential to play a significant role in expanding the use of hydrogen in the transport sector.
To date, however hydrogen bus demonstrations have been focussed on urban buses only, leaving other public transit applications completely unaddressed.
