This research project examines the resilience of energy systems integrated with hydrogen as a fuel source. It aims to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to enhance system flexibility, contributing to a reliable energy transition in Europe while addressing the challenges of hydrogen integration.
Hydrogen has emerged as the primary energy source for European countries to pursue net zero.
However, due to the lower heat value compared with natural gas, the integration of hydrogen can substantially reduce the flexibility of the energy system, rendering it more vulnerable to extreme operating conditions.
