This project aims to validate the effectiveness of ruthenium-based photoactivated chemotherapy compounds on cancer models with low oxygen levels. By activating the treatment with light, it targets tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue, offering a potential solution for hard-to-treat cancers.
In this Proof-of-Concept project I will show the commercial potential of ruthenium-based photoactivated chemotherapy (PACT) compounds developed in my ERC Starting Grant by demonstrating their efficacy on hypoxic cancer models.
