This project investigates the proton radius through advanced measurements in muonic hydrogen and helium. It aims to resolve discrepancies in proton structure and improve our understanding of nuclear contributions using cutting-edge laser technologies.
The proton radius extracted from the measurements of the 2S-2P energy splitting in muonic hydrogen(μp) has attracted great attention because of a 7σ discrepancy with the values extracted fromelectron scattering and hydrogen (H) spectroscopy.
