This project investigates the historical hydrology of Mars, aiming to recreate its ancient water cycle and channel systems. By simulating Martian conditions and analyzing geological features, it seeks to understand past habitability and inform future exploration.
Mars displays clear evidence of water, having regions where water flowed at several times in its 4 billion years history.
The aim of this fellowship is to reconstruct paleo-hydrological conditions on late Mars (from 3Ga to date) and to recreate the hydrogeological cycle that created the complex channel systems found on Mars’ surface.
