This project focuses on developing surfaces that can switch between water-repellent and water-attracting states. These surfaces aim to enhance applications like self-cleaning technologies and efficient liquid handling without mechanical parts by minimizing the energy needed for these transitions.
Creating tunable surfaces that are able to undergo reversible transitions between superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic behaviour is a challenging and vital issue due to their potential use in applications involving self cleaning, very low flow resistance and liquid handling without moving mechanical parts.
