The HYDROBOND project aims to develop superhydrophobic coatings for offshore wind turbine blades. These coatings will reduce ice accumulation, enhance durability, and lower maintenance costs, thereby improving the efficiency and reliability of wind energy systems.
The main objective of HYDROBOND is the development of a highly innovative process for application of superhydrophobic coatings onto large off-shore turbine blades, that will contribute to minimize the power losses and mechanical failures.
