This project investigates the use of hydrogen as a renewable energy source by studying its combustion dynamics when mixed with natural gas. The goal is to develop advanced measurement techniques to facilitate the safe implementation of hydrogen-enriched combustion in existing power plants.
A major impediment to the economic viability of carbon-free renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power is an inability to effectively utilize the power they generate if it is not immediately needed.
