This project investigates the role of specific brain regions in social decision-making among primates. It aims to understand how past interactions influence predictions about groupmates' behavior using advanced neural recording techniques.
Primates live in a complex social environment, in which they need to maintain track of their past social interactions and learn to formulate prediction on what specific groupmates are likely to do based on their past experiences. I have previously contributed to show that the PF (prefrontal cortex) has a main function in the generation of goals based on the current contexts and events, but its role in social cognition is still little explored.
