This project analyzes the origins of transhumant pastoralism in northeastern Spain to understand human interactions with cultural landscapes. By studying Iron Age enclosures, it aims to inform environmental policies for managing mountainous areas based on historical land use.
Cultural landscapes are defined as areas which have been largely shaped by past human activities.
The correct management of cultural landscapes requires the understanding of past human-landscape interactions.
