This project investigates the role of houses in Neolithic societies in Northwest Europe by analyzing tools and material practices associated with daily activities. It focuses on two case studies in Britain to understand how different settlement types influenced technical activities and social dynamics.
The construction of houses is a defining feature of the earliest farming communities in NW Europe, but we have a limited understanding of the role of the house in the development of Neolithic societies.
