This project examines the transformation of housing markets in Europe, focusing on the decline of homeownership among young adults. It analyzes the impact of financialization and labor market inequalities on housing access and socio-economic divides.
Recent years have seen a transformation of housing careers.
Significant homeownership declines among young adults is evident across Europe, with growing shares in rental or staying on in the parental home.
These are not merely symptoms of a temporary recession, but are outcomes of fundamental changes in labour and housing markets alongside shifting state roles.
