The project focuses on developing biodegradable films for equilibrium modified atmosphere packaging of fresh produce. It aims to create environmentally friendly packaging that extends shelf life while maintaining the quality and safety of horticultural products.
Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) is increasingly used with minimally processed fresh produce.
Equilibrium Modified Atmosphere Packaging (EMAP) of Fresh Produce is also increasingly used to extend shelf-life of fresh produce.
