This project investigates the cultural concept of honor, particularly in Middle Eastern, North African, and Latin cultures. It employs the Culture as Situated Cognition Model to explore how honor influences emotions, behaviors, and cognitive processes through both laboratory and field experiments.
Culture influences how people think, feel, and perceive the world around them.
Two cultural axes, individualism and collectivism, have been well researched, primarily by contrasting East Asians and Westerners.
Building on my previous research, I propose to examine a third and mostly neglected cultural axis, honor.
