This project investigates the impact of various public housing policies on local housing markets and regional inequality. It analyzes the effectiveness of instruments such as property taxes, social housing programs, and rent control using advanced theoretical models and empirical data from multiple countries.
In light of rapidly increasing prices of housing, gentrification and increasing regional inequalities within and across cities in many countries, I study the effectiveness of various public policies to counter these challenges.
