The project aims to industrialize a new coating technology called high power pulsed magnetron sputtering, which enhances the quality of coatings for plastic injection molds. It focuses on developing equipment that optimizes coating properties to meet industry demands.
In recent years an innovative magnetron sputtering technique named high power pulsed/impulse magnetron sputtering (HPPMS/HIPIMS) has emerged.
It is characterized by a high degree of ionization of the sputtered material which makes it a very attractive deposition technique for enhancing and tailoring coating properties.
