The HIPERWIND project aims to enhance the modeling of atmospheric and ocean conditions to improve the design and reliability of offshore wind farms. By developing advanced load assessment methods and a reliability framework, it seeks to reduce costs and risks associated with wind energy production.
The core challenge addressed in this project is the advancement of the entire modelling chain spanning basic atmospheric physics to advanced engineering design in order to lower uncertainty and risk for large offshore wind farms.
