HiAOOS aims to enhance ocean observation in the Arctic by deploying a network of moorings for data collection on ocean and sea ice conditions. This project will develop new technologies for data transfer and analysis, improving understanding of marine environments and facilitating research.
HiAOOS will develop, implement, and validate several ocean observing technologies to improve data collection in the ice-covered Arctic Ocean. A network of multipurpose moorings will be deployed for two years in the deep Nansen and Amundsen Basins.
