This project aims to model the hydrodynamics of strongly-coupled quantum matter using gauge/gravity duality. It focuses on understanding the interplay between momentum relaxation and quantum criticality, enhancing knowledge of phenomena in systems like high-temperature superconductors and graphene.
The dynamics of weakly-coupled quantum matter can be solved by techniques deriving from perturbative quantum field theory.
Conventional metals are described by long-lived quasiparticles (Fermi liquids).
