The HEROCO2 project aims to develop biocatalysts for carbon capture and utilization. By designing hierarchical porous materials, it seeks to enhance CO2 conversion processes to produce methanol and amino acids, contributing to sustainable industrial practices.
Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies are considered crucial for reaching carbon neutrality.
Biocatalysis could offer sustainable alternatives to utilize emitted CO2 as building block for green industrial processes.
