This project focuses on developing intelligent biohybrids that integrate engineered brain tissue with neuromorphic electronics and artificial intelligence. The goal is to promote self-repair of brain circuits, particularly in epilepsy, and to advance the field of regenerative medicine.
Brain disorders are the most invalidating condition, exceeding HIV, cancer and heart ischemia, with significant impact on society and public health.
Regenerative medicine is a promising branch of health science that aims at restoring brain function by rebuilding brain tissue.
