This project investigates how gut bacteria influence the health of honey bees by modulating the effects of flavonoids, which are beneficial plant compounds. It aims to understand the interaction between bee health and exposure to pesticides, ultimately contributing to strategies for improving bee resilience.
When feeding on plants, animals ingest non-nutritive compounds produced by the plant which are converted by the metabolic activity of bacteria present in their gut and act on their physiology.
