This project investigates early metalworking in Western Europe by analyzing tools used by craftspeople during the Chalcolithic and Bronze Age. It aims to understand the technological and social aspects of metalworking through the study of tool morphology, material properties, and the social networks of metalworkers.
The aim of this project is to achieve a better understanding of both the technological and the social dimensions of early metalworking in Western Europe, through a systematic study of the toolkit employed by Chalcolithic and Bronze Age craftspeople.
