This project aims to enhance understanding of the hair bundle's role in auditory perception by studying its mechanical and biochemical properties. The research focuses on the interactions within the hair bundle that are crucial for sound processing and potential hearing loss.
The hair bundles of the sensory cells play a central role in the processing of sounds by the cochlea.
Various performances of auditory perception depend upon what biophysical and physiological environment the operating hair bundle can provide to its mechanoelectrical transduction (MET) channels.
