H-unique is developing a new method to analyze human hand anatomy using both hard and soft biometrics. By creating a large dataset through citizen engagement, the project aims to improve the identification of anatomical variations in forensic applications.
H-unique will be the first multimodal automated interrogation of visible hand anatomy, through analysis and interpretation of human variation.
It will be an interdisciplinary project, supported by anatomists, anthropologists, geneticists, bioinformaticians, image analysts and computer scientists.
