This project focuses on understanding the interactions between whipworms and host immune cells to inform potential therapies for trichuriasis. Using a mouse model, it aims to identify genetic factors influencing immune responses and explore their mechanisms.
Whipworms (Trichuris trichuira) are soil-transmitted helminths that infect about 700 million people in the tropicsand sub-tropics and cause the human disease, trichuriasis.
