This study investigates the global supply and demand for rare earth elements, focusing on mining practices and their implications for economic development. It aims to understand how different countries manage resource extraction and its socio-environmental impacts.
Our new global political economy is increasingly defined by ‘critical raw materials’ – of which rare earths elements (or ‘rare earths’) are the most significant.
