GRECO studies the impact of groundwater on coastal lagoon ecosystems, focusing on how freshwater and nutrients from groundwater affect primary producers. The project employs innovative methods to enhance understanding of these interactions and their ecological significance.
Coastal lagoons host some of the most dynamic, diverse and productive ecosystems on Earth, which are subject to significant pressure from human activities.
