This research focuses on analyzing long-term fire records from Switzerland, Greece, and Algeria to understand the interactions between fire, weather, and land use over time. By reconstructing historical fire patterns, the project aims to inform better management practices in the context of climate change.
Long-term historical fire records extending back to the late 1800s are very rare worldwide.
