The project investigates how feminist movements in Italy and Spain respond to the gendered impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyzes their strategies, mobilization methods, and influence on public policy regarding issues like gender-based violence and care work.
The gendered effects of the current pandemic crisis – i.e. how the economic, social, and political problems prompted by the COVID-19 health crisis affect women, men, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex people differently – are amongst the most visible and significant ones, yet continue to be largely underestimated in the mainstream political, policy, and academic debates.
