GLOWORM aims to develop sustainable strategies for controlling parasitic worm infections in ruminant livestock, addressing the challenges posed by climate change and anthelmintic resistance. The project will enhance diagnostic methods and create predictive models for effective intervention.
Infections with parasitic worms (nematodes and trematodes) represent a significant economic and welfare burden to the European ruminant livestock industry.
The increasing prevalence of anthelmintic resistance means that current control programmes are costly and unsustainable in the long term.
