GetHomeSafe is developing a system to ensure safe access to information and communication while driving. The project focuses on understanding the cognitive load of drivers during multitasking and aims to establish industry standards for wireless communication between vehicles and mobile devices.
The aim of the proposed project is to develop a system for safe information access (search, navigation, point of interest) and communication (texting) while driving.
In order to reach that goal, we approach the problem from a holistic view, investigating the underlying driving forces", studying the goals underlying searching and texting.
Special attention will be paid to task and context factors such as multi-tasking and the associated cognitive load for the driver.
