This project aims to develop a new method for creating human primordial germ cell-like cells using human induced pluripotent stem cells. By improving the culture protocols, the research seeks to better mimic natural development and enhance the efficiency of generating these cells for further study.
Investigating the developmental 'black box' of early human primordial germ cell (hPGC) development has been hindered by inefficient model systems that do not recapitulate in vivo developmental tempo, and that are overly reliant on the use of human embryonic material.
