GeoWAVE focuses on advancing offshore wave energy technology by developing innovative mooring and anchoring systems. The project aims to overcome technical and economic challenges, enabling the widespread deployment of wave energy converters, thus promoting renewable energy utilization.
Sustainable offshore wave energy has the potential to make a real contribution towards the binding EU commitment to source 20% of its electricity requirements from renewable sources by 2020.
