The GENRES project explores how genetic and environmental factors contribute to resilience in individuals facing early life stress. By analyzing data from large population cohorts, it aims to identify developmental pathways that promote recovery and well-being across emotional and cognitive domains.
Early life stress (ELS), ranging from prenatal to postnatal challenges such as household dysfunction and child maltreatment, often co-occurs and affects over 60% of individuals worldwide, leading to adverse outcomes like psychosocial difficulties.
