The GENOMERGE project explores the evolutionary impacts of genome mergers in plants, particularly through endosymbiosis and allopolyploidy. It aims to understand how these processes contribute to biodiversity and adaptive traits.
Genome merger has played a central role in the origin, evolution and diversification of eukaryotes with critical impact on species ecology and adaptation.
