This project aims to enhance the prediction of sudden cardiac death by combining genetic information with electrocardiogram data. It focuses on developing a new risk marker and personalized risk scores to identify individuals at higher risk of malignant arrhythmias.
Sudden cardiac death (SCD), a main consequence of malignant ventricular arrhythmias, is a leading cause of cardiovascular mortality in the general population.
The early identification of individuals at risk is important.
The spatio-temporal dispersion of ventricular repolarization is recognized as one of the major factors modulating the vulnerability to malignant arrhythmias and SCD.
