This project aims to unravel the complexities of mitochondrial gene expression, which is vital for energy production in cells. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, researchers are investigating the regulation of mitochondrial DNA transcription and its implications for genetic diseases and aging.
The mitochondrial network produces the bulk part of the energy mammalian cells need through the oxidative phosphorylation process.
