This project investigates the interaction between gamma-delta T cells and a novel ligand on cancer cells to develop new cancer therapies. The focus is on understanding the molecular mechanisms of this interaction to create effective therapeutic agents.
Gamma-delta (gd-)T cells are a fast acting subset of T cells that recognize a wide variety of ligands.
In contrast to alpha-beta T cells they are not restricted to classical peptide-MHC antigens.
