The GAPAID project aims to develop a diagnostic platform for rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. By integrating genetic and serological data, it seeks to improve early diagnosis and personalized treatment options for these autoimmune diseases.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and sistemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are two autoimmune diseases that respectively affect an estimated population of 1.537.000 and 1.272.000 of patients in Europe.
Such diseases show a long prodrome during which there are no clinical symptoms.
In some cases, therapeutic treatments have been developed to improve patients quality of life.
